5 Apps to Help You Keep Your Health and Fitness Goals

If you were someone who made resolutions related to health and fitness, here are some apps designed to help you achieve those goals.

Some are old standbys, but still delivering the goods, and others may be new to you. Check them out and see what works for you, and in the comments, please share with me which apps work best for you.

1. Sworkit. This app, available for Apple and Android devices, designs a custom circuit workout for you, depending on the time you have and the body part(s) you want to work. It's that simple.

2.Waterlogged. If you're concerned about hydration, this app is for you. Available on iTunes and Google Play, this app allows you to measure your water intake. It will send out reminders and it can sync to your Fitbit device.

3. Couch to 5K. Are you looking to start a running regimen? Here's an app that will prepare you to run a 5K (3.1 miles) in 9 weeks. Available through iTunes and Google Play.

4. My Fitness Pal. If you're looking to keep track of what you're eating, My Fitness Pal is the gold standard. Use the extensive data base to track your calories and macronutrients in order to achieve a weight loss or maintenance goal. Coupled with a desktop platform, this app allows you to track wherever you are. There is also a fitness tracker, which will calculate your cardio and strength training burn. It also syncs to Sworkit.

5. RunKeeper. RunKeeper is an activity tracker that tracks your running, walking, or cycling. It measures distance, time, pace, and calories burned. It includes audio cues and coaching and a chance to engage with other athletes and friends through social media. Available through iTunes and Google Play.
