Friday Five Link Up and 5 Tips for being Professionally Chic

5 Tips for being Professionally Chic:

I feel pretty confident that the most recurring question in a woman’s mind is, “What am I going to wear?” A tale as old as time, I’m sure. But what’s even more nerve-wrecking is trying to figure out what to wear to WORK, especially if you work in “Corporate America”. For those of us that do, we all know there’s so many rules, regulations and let us not forget, “politics” that shape your work environment. With that being said, trying to figure out how to be professional AND chic can be a job within itself! 

 Here are some must-haves to ensure you are looking professionally chic throughout the week: 

1) Chic Coat – As Kanye said, “Before he speak, his suit bespoke!” Suit COAT that is! A chic and stylish statement coat can speak on your behalf before anyone sees what you’re wearing underneath.

2) Blazers and Cardigans – Both are great pieces to add to your work wardrobe. Not only are they professional, but they add layers to your look; this definitely comes in handy during the changing of the seasons. Not to mention, they also add that extra flavor to your look! 

3) Chic Shoe – Ah yes, the shoes are always important (says the shoe addict). A great shoe can elevate your look to the next level, giving you the edge you’re looking for. Even if you think your outfit is neutral and “subpar”, a simple chic pump can transition your look to total fabulosity!

For those of us who are on our feet all day, wearing stylish 5.5 inch pumps are not so feasible. You can be just as fabulous in a cute pair of flirty flats! 

4) Fun Flirty Prints – Who says “all work and no play”?! I beg to differ. Yes, you must work, but who says you can’t be a little playful with your attire? Try rocking some fun patterns every once in a while to add variety to your wardrobe. 

5) Accessories -

Scarves: Not only will a scarf keep you warm, it can add that much needed flair to your look.

Belts: You can put a belt on almost anything. Tie it around your jacket, blazer or cardigan. It can also add that special detail to your outfit; and it’s ALL about the details!

Necklaces: A nice neck piece is a great way to spice up your look. I love big and chunky necklaces!
